Simon Gerrans (Orica-GreenEDGE) became the first Australian to win the historic Liege-Bastogne-Liege with a perfectly timed sprint after Daniel Martin (Garmin-Sharp) fell in the final corner.
Simon Gerrans has chalked up some amazing results in the last two years with wins at Milan-San Remo, two Tour de France stages and yellow jersey, two National championships, a Tour Down Under win and this now will rank as one of his most significant career wins and rank Gerrans now as one of the most accomplished Australian riders.
