This week’s The Bike Lane picture of the week is Francesco Moser, because it’s his birthday today, turning 64. The picture is from 341production.com and Moser is pictured with bike in which he broke the hour record in 1984, in Mexico City and the bike of the Indoor Hour Record on the 21 May 1988 in Stuttgart. The picture was taken in 2012.
Francesco Moser “Lo sceriffo” was one of the dominate riders of the 70’s and 80’s winning the Giro d’Italia, Milan San-Remo, won Paris-Roubaix three times, the Giro di Lomardia, Gent-Wevelgem, Paris-Tours, La Flèche Wallonne, 4 Giro Points champion, World Champion, Tour de France stage wins, 3 x Italian Road Championships, hour record breaker. I’ve probably missed some, what a legend.
Francesco Moser’s nephew Moreno Moser rides for Garmin-Cannondale.
