Kinetic by Kurt has today announced its first ever electronic trainer, the new Kinetic Smart Control. The new electronically controlled Kinetic Smart Control indoor trainers will connect via Bluetooth Smart to any compatible device and a range of training platforms including TrainerRoad and Zwift.
There’s also a next generation Kinetic Fit app to control the Smart Control trainers and integrate workouts, power training plans and videos.
There will be three models available, a Rock and Roll Smart Control, Road Machine Smart Control and a separate Smart Control power unit that can be fitted to existing Rock and Roll and Road Machine indoor trainers.
At the heart of the new Kinetic trainers is the Smart Control power unit that features a similar massive flywheel to earlier kinetic trainers that can now be controlled via Bluetooth Smart by either the Kinetic Fit app (iOS or beta Android) or third party training programs like TrainerRoad and Zwift.

Kinetic have been at the forefront of rear wheel based indoor trainers with there incredible road feel and robust trainer frames so the new electronically controlled trainers are a welcome addition that will provide power integration with the latest training platforms.
The new trainers will be available from Quarter 3, 2016 and pricing is USD $849 for the Kinetic Rock and Roll Smart Control, USD $649.00 for the Road Machine Smart Contol and USD $549 for the Smart Control power unit.
Every Smart Control trainer purchase will include a free six-month Smart subscription to the Kinetic Fit app including workout programs and training plans
