After being seen in recent weeks on Alexander Kristoff’s still unreleased Canyon Aeroad SLX Disc and Ted King’s Cannondale SRAM has now officially announced SRAM HydroHC disc brakes for Red eTap groupsets.
Released last year after a long development phase SRAM Red eTap was initially only available with cable actuated rim brakes, now SRAM has announced new HydroHC hydraulic disc brakes for its top of the range wireless groupset.
The new HydroHC disc brakes incorporate HydroR and Level technology with shift levers being adjustable with Reach Adjust and new Contact Point Adjustment allowing riders to set up for their hand size and preferences. HydroHC Disc calipers will be available in post or flat mount and have Bleeding Edge for quick simple brake bleeds.
SRAM HydroHC will be available exclusively for Red eTap and will be available in October with more specification details and pricing to be announced at Eurobike 2016.
With the SRAM HydroHC disc brakes now officially released let’s hope we see the details on Alexander Kristoff’s Canyon Aeroad SLX Disc soon as well. UCI are yet to make announcement regarding the re-commencement of the disc brake trial in the pro peloton which is probably slowing the release of the Canyon and the Specialized S-Works Venge ViAS Disc.
